Chennai - Paris Reunion & Wedding

This weekend I was delighted to be invited by Abhishek and his family on the occasion of his cousins wedding. I know this dude from my time in Paris, from various events spent together. He is Indian and lives in Paris. Francois a Frenchi working in Hong Kong joined the weeding as well. So it was a kind of reunification in India. It was very cool to see these guys again; strangely the Indian came from Europe and the Europeans cam over from Asia.

We attended the wedding and went on a day trip to Pondicherry as well. Have a look at the pictures in the gallery.

How do you recognise becoming a Parisian

I came across this post at Gigi's Blog how do you recognise becoming a Parisian... It has been over 8 months since I left Paris but as I read this list I felt little bit back in time, as my time in Paris was really intense I post an outline of the funny and true list

You know you're becoming Parisian when....

• you get angry if you have to wait more than 2 minutes for the metro
• everybody thinks that you know every street in town, little do they know you secretly carry a tiny plan de Paris in your handbag at all times
• the end of zone 2 marks the end of the world as you know it
• you always open the door and jump off the metro before it has come to a complete stop
• 4 to 5 flights of stairs is nothing (although I don't care how long I live here 7 will always be too many)
• you have also accepted that parks are for looking at, not playing in, and you therefore always remember to keep off the grass
• 8 euros for a pint of beer is, not exactly reasonable, but not exorbitant either
• 50 square metres is a lot of space
• you always have a baguette, wine and cheese in your kitchen

Paris im Winter

Winter in Paris. Ich war für ein paar Tage noch einmal in der Stadt der Liebe um mich vom schreiben meiner Diplomarbeit abzulenken, hier ein paar Eindrücke:

Charles de Gaulle und Roller fahren

Als ich das erste mal auf dem Champs Elysee stand und auf den Arc de Triomphe schaute war ich fasziniert von der Architektur und der gesamten Planung. Die Straßen führen sternförmig vom Triumph bogen ab.






Und der Pracht boulevard Champs Elysee führt direkt zum Louvre.

Jedenfalls wollte ich schon immer einmal da lang düsen, sei es per Auto oder Roller

Cimetière Père Lachaise

Cimetière Père Lachaise ist der größte Friedhof von Paris und wir hatten die Gelegenheit eine Führung in englisch zu machen.

DerGuide hat uns einiges interessantes und kurioses berichtet. Jedenfalls ist war es ganz imposant über den Friedhof zu laufen weniger wegen der Berühmtheiten die da begraben sind (Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrisson... etc.) sonder eher die unterschiedliche Gestaltung des Friedhofes selbst.
